Las Vegas is one of the craziest towns in the world! I live in London and during the weekend you don’t really know if you are in the metro or in a distillery or in a circus but the shows that you see in the street in Vegas is far away from the reality of my city.
Our holiday started the 19th October, we landed after 10 hours of flight, after passport and visa control we are finally in the taxi heading to Flamingo our super central hotel. Few friends of mine who were already been in America told me about how things are bigger than usually here, like a normal cappuccino in Starbucks or burger in a local pub. Well as soon as we entered in our hotel I understood what they meant!!!! It took us 10 minutes to find the reception because of the Casino that you can even find inside your hotel, which sound really silly from me saying that but I didn’t though you can find machines or poker table every inch you walk.
Once we reached our stunning room, even if our body asks some relax for the jet lag we took a shower to refresh ourself and we went to eat in a Messicano restaurant and we enjoyed the view. Girls half naked walking around or guys dressed as fireman, of course they expect you to put few dollars in their pocket and to take a picture with them. But you can even see groups of girls who came there to celebrate their 18’s or even bachelorette party, if you google Magic Mike you will understand what I am talking about!
But Vegas in not just about casino, poker and drunk people if you just rent a Mustang, as we did, you can drive around and discover the beauty of the nature around you.
We booked the car through our agency Virgin Holidays to have a good deal, we reach the airport and we pick it up one! Well that’s one of the best parts of our holiday. We drove until The Valley of Death that from the airport was about 2h, well what to said just Amazing. No contaminations, no houses or tall building no so many people as well, we just decide to enjoy the most of it and we wait for the sunset. Another great experience was the Grand Canyon West, we wanted to do the helicopter tour plus the boat one in the Colorado River, so after few researches, got the best deal no for money but for the security because apparently they don’t take any risks if something happen so it’s highly recommend to spend a little bit more but to have a safe company who care for the security of their customers. Anyway, we booked the ticket and the day after around 8am we were in our way to Grand Canyon. It took about 3h with a bus and the guide who was explaining few stories about the Indian population.
Here we are finally taking off, and OMG so much adrenaline and anxiety but what a view, speechless, a mix of feeling that you can describe with words. Highly recommend to everyone except for the acrophobic people, the one afraid of heights. So, after few minutes we landed over the Colorado River where a guide, really nice and a good photographer too who took us on the river with a small boat, very quick tour as well but super nice.
And again, on the helicopter back at the base, so when you reached the Grand Canyon there is like a barrier where you pass by and after that you are like inside a village with a small bus who bring you around. The first stop was the helicopter tour, the second one a fake Indian village where usually you find family, and the last point SKYWALK really impressive as you can see from the picture.
Our last day we spent it in Los Angeles, took us 5 hours of driving but it was worthy. We left Vegas really early in the morning so that we could stop in Santa Monica to take a picture where the Road 66 ends.
During the afternoon we pop in the famous WALK OF FAME which to be honest didn’t impress me at all but finally… the magic HOLLYWOOD sign for the sunset, a MUST.
What an holiday!!!! Best of my life indeed.
